Summer FIVE A HUGE Success!

During the first four summers we served 16,907 lunches…this summer, with five lunch sites we served a TOTAL of 9,955 lunches to children. And our TOTAL meals served was 12.516 (which includes lunches and breakfasts to children). God was at work this summer as we had three Hilliard sites, one Hilltop site and one Dublin site. Two of these were outdoors completely dependent on the weather! We prayed daily and only had three inclement days!

Lunch is the vehicle God uses to help us build relationships with the children and this summer because of our generous partners and volunteers, we were able to serve these children and their families in ways far beyond lunch.

For example, we handed out school supplies for the fourth year, to every child. Thanks to Kelly Marentic and Carol Ocock for shopping and Thrivent Financial for funding the supplies.

It is always bittersweet as we say goodbye to the children and shift gears into our fall planning. Look to the our next newsletter with how to volunteer this school year with these same children! We are making a huge impact in the lives of the children in need in the Hilliard area!
